Craig Silvey is an Australian novelist celebrated for his contributions to contemporary literature. Silvey has earned a reputation as one of the most prominent voices in Australian fiction, having been recognized twice as one of the Best Young Australian Novelists by The Sydney Morning Herald. His works have garnered international acclaim, with a shortlisting for the International Dublin Literary Award.
His debut novel, Rhubarb, was published in 2004 and marked the beginning of his literary journey. However, it was his second novel, Jasper Jones, released in 2009, that cemented his status as a notable writer. Jasper Jones has been acknowledged as a modern Australian classic and has achieved bestseller status in over a dozen territories. This novel not only received an International Dublin Literary Award shortlisting but also an honor from the Michael J. Printz Award and a shortlisting for the Miles Franklin Literary Award.
