Cinda Williams Chima

Cinda Williams Chima is a celebrated New York Times bestselling author of young adult fantasy, renowned for her enchanting series such as The Heir Chronicles, The Seven Realms, and The Shattered Realm. Born in 1952, Chima’s journey into the realm of fantasy began early. She comes from a lineage of fortune-tellers, musicians, and masterful storytellers, which naturally imbued her with a rich imagination and a penchant for weaving captivating narratives. Her passion for writing sparked during her middle school years, where she ventured into crafting romance novels, often to the amusement and sometimes the confiscation of her teachers.

Chima’s literary career took a significant turn with the publication of The Heir Chronicles, a contemporary fantasy series set in Ohio where magic breathes life into the modern world. This series debuted with Hyperion from 2006 to 2008, later expanding with two additional installments in 2013 and 2014. Following this, Chima unveiled The Seven Realms series, a mesmerizing journey through high fantasy lands, published between 2009 and 2012. Not resting on her laurels, she introduced a sequel series, The Shattered Realms, which continued to explore the enchanting world of the Seven Realms, but a generation later, from 2016 to 2019.

In her latest venture, Chima embarks on a bold new series, The Runestone Saga. The inaugural book, Children of Ragnarok, published in 2022, skillfully marries Norse magic and mythology with compelling swordplay and romance, marking another milestone in her illustrious writing career.
