Christine Feehan, born Christine King in California, USA, is a renowned American author known for her extensive work in paranormal romance, military thrillers, and fantasy genres. Growing up in a large family with 10 sisters and 3 brothers, Christine often found herself in trouble at school for writing when she should have been focused on other tasks. She would later share her work with her sisters, forcing them to read every word. Christine has said, "I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me."
Living in the scenic mountains of Lake County, she has always loved outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and rafting. Additionally, she has been involved in the martial arts for many years, holding a third-degree black belt and instructing in a Korean karate system.
Her literary career took off with the publication of her first novel, Dark Prince, in 1999, which began her successful paranormal saga. This debut novel won three of the nine Paranormal Excellence Awards in Romantic Literature for 1999, and since then she has earned seven more PEARL awards. Christine Feehan has received numerous honors throughout her career, including being a nominee for the RWA's RITA and receiving a Career Achievement Award from the Romantic Times.
Christine is married to Richard Feehan, and together they have 11 children from previous marriages, as well as numerous grandchildren, who keep her very busy. Today, her daughters assist in reading and editing her manuscripts.
