Chris Wooding

Chris Wooding is a British writer born on 28 February 1977 in Leicester and currently resides in London. He grew up in a small town in Leicestershire, where he started writing novels at a young age. By sixteen, he had completed his first novel.

His debut book, Crashing, was published in 1998 when he was twenty-one. Since then, Wooding has written numerous books including The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, which was a silver runner-up for the NestlΓ© Smarties Book Prize, and Poison, which won the Lancashire Children's Book of the Year award.

He is also known for several series such as Broken Sky, an anime-influenced fantasy serial for children, Braided Path, a fantasy trilogy for adults, and Malice, a young adult fantasy that blends graphic novel and traditional novel forms. His four-part series, Tales of the Ketty Jay, is a steampunk sci-fi fantasy for adults.

Chris has travelled extensively across the world, including Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and South Africa. He has also toured with bands across the UK and Europe during his twenties and has lived in Madrid for a period.

Additionally, he writes for film and television and has several projects in development. He discovered that his family lineage traces back to John Milton, the author of Paradise Lost.

Chris Wooding's works have been translated into twenty languages, earning various awards and international recognition.
