Chris Dixon is an American internet entrepreneur and investor. He is a general partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and previously worked at eBay. He is also the co-founder and former CEO of Hunch. Dixon was ranked #1 on the Midas List in 2022 and is recognized for his contributions to the field of cryptocurrency and Web3 as a notable evangelist.
Before his career in venture capital, Dixon earned degrees from Columbia University (BA) and Harvard University (MBA). At Andreessen Horowitz, he joined in 2013 and has since invested in pivotal tech companies such as Oculus (later acquired by Facebook), Coinbase, and others. He has also placed early bets on Kickstarter, Pinterest, Stack Overflow, and Stripe. Dixon founded and leads a16z crypto, a division of the firm, which has escalated from $300 million in 2018 to over $7 billion of committed capital for crypto and web3 technologies.
