Catherine Ryan Hyde is an American novelist and short story writer, born in 1955. She has successfully transitioned from traditional publication to the world of eBook publication. Her novels have achieved bestseller status in both the U.S. and U.K., and her short stories have won numerous awards and honors.
One of her most famous works, Pay It Forward, was adapted into a film. Another novel, Electric God, is currently in development. Hyde's works are often optimistic explorations of ordinary people, particularly those who are troubled, down-on-their-luck, or recovering from past difficulties or abuse. Her stories frequently parallel her own experiences and travels, exploring settings in New York City, small towns, and the American West and Southwest.
Beyond her literary pursuits, Hyde is also known to be an avid hiker, kayaker, photographer, and active blogger. She resides in Cambria, California, and is known for giving numerous interviews.
