Catherine Jinks is an Australian author of more than thirty books for all age groups. She has won numerous awards, including the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award four times, the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, the Aurealis Award for Science Fiction, the IBBY Australia Ena Noel Encouragement Award, the Adelaide Festival Award, and the Davitt Award for Crime Fiction.
Catherine was born in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1963. She spent her early years in Papua New Guinea, where her father worked as a patrol officer, before moving to Sydney, NSW, for her high-school education. In 2006, her alma mater, Ku-ring-gai High School, named its library after her.
