Carrie Jones

Carrie Jones is an internationally bestselling and New York Times bestselling author of many books for children, young adults, and adults, including the Need series, Time Stoppers series, and Flying series. Her work has been featured on NPR, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan. Aside from writing, she is also a podcaster, editor, and writing coach.

Jones lives with her family in Maine, though she grew up in Bedford, NH. Her early career experiences are diverse, having worked as a gymnastics coach, on-call firefighter, emergency dispatcher, newspaper editor, columnist, sports reporter, and photographer. Despite these experiences, she finds her identity as a "quirky writer" most fulfilling.

Jones is the co-editor of Dear Bully, an anthology of children's book writers' experiences with bullying, and a contributor to Things We Haven't Said, an anthology about surviving sexual assaults experienced in youth.

She is actively involved in volunteer work, including roles with Rotary International, local theater, children's hunger programs, Shelter Box, and anti-human trafficking organizations. Jones has a deep love for rescue animals and advocates for their freedom and well-being.

In addition to her writing, Jones is a dedicated writing coach. Her coaching philosophy focuses on nurturing a writer's authentic voice, encouraging boundary-pushing, and providing constructive feedback in a supportive manner.
