Bree Despain is a celebrated American author best known for her captivating series, the Dark Divine trilogy and the Into The Dark trilogy. Born in 1979, Despain discovered her passion for writing at a young age, creating her own novels by stapling folded papers. Despite initially considering a career in law, she was inspired to pursue writing full-time after a car accident made her realize her unfulfilled dream of publishing a book.
She earned her masterโs degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the prestigious Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her debut novel, The Dark Divine, introduced readers to Grace Divine, a pastor's daughter whose world is shaken by the return of her childhood friend, Daniel Kalbi. The series continued with The Lost Saint and concluded with The Savage Grace.
Despain continued her literary success with the Into The Dark trilogy, a modern-day retelling of the Persephone/Hades and Orpheus/Eurydice myths, commencing with The Shadow Prince, followed by The Eternity Key and concluding with the third installment in 2016.
Currently residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her family, Bree's journey is a testament to following one's passion and the impact of storytelling.
