Bo Caldwell is an American author born in 1955. She is renowned for her national bestseller, The Distant Land of My Father (2002), which gained significant popularity after being selected for Silicon Valley Reads 2008. Her second novel, The City of Tranquil Light, was published in 2011.

Bo Caldwell's short fiction has appeared in prestigious literary journals such as Ploughshares, Story, and Epoch. She is also a former Stegner Fellow in Creative Writing at Stanford University.

Currently, she resides in Northern California with her husband, Ron Hansen, and their two children.
