Beryl Markham

Beryl Markham (born Clutterbuck) was a pioneering Kenyan aviator born in England. She was one of the first bush pilots, an adventurer, a racehorse trainer, and an author. She holds the distinction of being the first person to fly solo, non-stop across the Atlantic from Britain to North America.

Markham immortalized her adventures in her acclaimed memoir, West with the Night, where she detailed her experiences and the challenges she faced during her remarkable journeys.
