Bernhard Hennen

Bernhard Hennen is a distinguished German writer of fantasy literature, born in 1966 in Krefeld. He is renowned internationally for his acclaimed series Die Elfen ("The Elves"), launched in 2004, which has been translated into numerous European languages.

Hennen pursued his academic education in German studies, archaeology, and history at the University of Cologne. During his studies, he gained experience working as a journalist for various newspapers and radio stations.

In 1994, Hennen co-authored his first novel, Das Jahr des Greifen ("The Year of the Griffin"), with Wolfgang Hohlbein, which was awarded the best German fantasy novel of the year.

To date, Bernhard Hennen has published approximately 25 historical and fantasy novels, along with a series of short stories. His historical novel Die Könige der ersten Nacht ("The Kings of the First Night") marked his debut in hardcover in 1999, followed by two more in the subsequent years.
