Ben Sherwood

Benjamin Berkley "Ben" Sherwood is an American writer, journalist, and entrepreneur, recognized for his influential roles as the former President of Disney-ABC Television Group and ABC News. Born on February 12, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, Sherwood has built a notable career spanning various aspects of media and storytelling.

Sherwood's journey began in journalism, where he contributed significantly to the industry through his work as executive producer of ABC’s Good Morning America from 2004 to 2006, leading the program during its two most successful seasons. His leadership guided prize-winning coverage of significant events such as the tsunami in Southeast Asia, hurricane Katrina's devastation, and the 2004 presidential election.

Prior to his time at ABC, Sherwood served in pivotal roles at NBC, including senior broadcast producer and senior producer of NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw from 1997 to 2001. His early career also saw him as a producer and associate producer at ABC News PrimeTime Live with Diane Sawyer and Sam Donaldson from 1989 to 1993.

Apart from his journalistic achievements, Sherwood is also a celebrated author. He has penned two critically acclaimed best-selling novels: The Man Who Ate the 747 and The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, both of which showcase his storytelling prowess and have garnered widespread praise.
