Beck Dorey-Stein is an American author born on June 11, 1986, in Narberth, Pennsylvania. She served as a stenographer in the White House from 2012 to 2017 under U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. Dorey-Stein is the author of the non-fiction book From the Corner of the Oval: A Memoir, which recounts her unique experiences providing stenography services to Presidents Obama and Trump. Additionally, she authored the novel Rock the Boat.
Before her notable White House tenure, Dorey-Stein taught high school English in Hightstown, New Jersey; Washington, D.C.; and Seoul, South Korea. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University.
