Barbara Ann Kipfer is a renowned lexicographer, linguist, ontologist, and part-time archaeologist. Born in 1954, she has an illustrious career with more than 70 books and calendars to her name, most notably 14,000 Things to be Happy About, which has over 1.5 million copies in print. The 25th anniversary edition was published in 2014. She is also the editor of the Roget's International Thesaurus from the 5th to the 8th editions.
Kipfer holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, including an MPhil and PhD in linguistics from the University of Exeter, a PhD in archaeology from Greenwich University, an MA and PhD in Buddhist Studies from Akamai University, and a BS in Physical Education from Valparaiso University. She is a Registered Professional Archaeologist.
