Avery Monsen

Avery Monsen is a talented writer, actor, and artist based in Los Angeles. He is known for illustrating and co-authoring the national bestseller, All My Friends Are Dead, as well as other notable works like I Feel Relatively Neutral About New York and K is For Knifeball. Monsen has contributed his writing skills to popular television shows including Billy On The Street and Trip Tank. His works have been featured in McSweeneyโ€™s Internet Tendency, The Believer, and various newspapers across the United States.


In 2017, he was recognized as one of the New Faces of Comedy at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. As an actor, Avery has made appearances on shows like 30 Rock, The Tonight Show, High Maintenance, Maron, Adam Ruins Everything, and Alexa & Katie.


Beyond books, Avery has worked as a Senior Writer at CAMP, The Family Experience Company, where he developed immersive experiences for iconic family brands such as Bluey, Encanto, Mickey and Friends, The Little Mermaid, Trolls, and PAW Patrol. His daughter thinks his work is really cool, and she's right.
