Ava Dellaira is a distinguished author best known for her contributions to young adult literature. Her debut adult novel, Exposure, is set to be published by Zibby Books in September of 2024. Her entrance into the literary world was marked by her young adult debut, Love Letters to the Dead, which garnered significant recognition. This novel was named a Best Book of the Year by various platforms and institutions, including Apple, Google, BuzzFeed, the New York Public Library, and the Chicago Public Library. It also received coverage in notable publications such as Vanity Fair, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, and The New York Times Book Review.
Dellaira's young adult follow-up, In Search of Us, continued to establish her reputation with widespread critical acclaim. Her fiction has crossed linguistic barriers, being translated into 24 languages. An alumna of the prestigious Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she was honored there as a Truman Capote Fellow. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dellaira pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago. She now resides in Altadena, CA.
