April Henry, born on April 14, 1959, is a New York Times bestselling author known for her captivating mysteries, thrillers, and young adult novels. Residing in Portland, Oregon, she shares her life with her family.
April's passion for writing began at a young age. At 12, she penned a short story about a six-foot-tall frog with a love for peanut butter. This story caught the attention of Roald Dahl, the celebrated author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, who liked it so much that he helped get it published in an international children's magazine.
Although her dream of writing lay dormant for a time, it resurfaced in her 30s while she worked in a corporate job. Writing on the side, April eventually transitioned to a full-time career as a writer, a path she finds immensely fulfilling. To date, she has authored 27 novels for both adults and teens, with more in the pipeline.
