Lady Antonia Margaret Caroline Fraser, née Pakenham, is a renowned British author born on 27 August 1932. She is widely acclaimed for her contributions to history, novels, biographies, and detective fiction.
Antonia Fraser is the widow of Nobel Laureate in Literature, Harold Pinter (1930–2008), and was also known as Lady Antonia Pinter during her marriage. Her illustrious career includes several award-winning historical works and biographies.
Some of her notable works include Mary, Queen of Scots, Cromwell: Our Chief of Men, King Charles II, and The Gunpowder Plot, which won the CWA Non-Fiction Gold Dagger and the St Louis Literary Award. Fraser has also penned five acclaimed books focusing on women in history, including The Weaker Vessel: Women's Lot in Seventeenth Century Britain, and The Warrior Queens: Boadecia's Chariot.
Her biography, Marie Antoinette: The Journey, won the Franco-British Literary Prize in 2001 and was adapted into a film by Sofia Coppola in 2006. Her recent work includes Love and Louis XIV: The Women in the Life of the Sun King.
