Anton Hur is a distinguished writer and translator renowned for his contribution to the realm of Korean literature. He has brought to the global audience the literary works of notable Korean authors such as Kyung-Sook Shin, Hwang Sok-yong, and Sang Young Park. His translation of Sang Young Park's Love in the Big City was longlisted for the prestigious 2022 International Booker Prize. Additionally, Hur translated Bora Chung's Cursed Bunny, a collection of short stories that was shortlisted for the same accolade. Remarkably, in that year, he was the sole translator to have the honor of being longlisted for two separate translations.

Hur's exceptional skills have been recognized with numerous awards, including a PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grants for his translation of Cursed Bunny and a PEN Translates grant for his work on Kang Kyeong-ae's The Underground Village.

Anton Hur was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and has lived in various parts of the world, including British Hong Kong, Ethiopia, and Thailand, though he has spent a significant portion of his life in Korea.
