Anthony John McGowan is an English author renowned for his works on children's, teenagers', and adults' books. He is notably the winner of the 2020 CILIP Carnegie Medal for his book Lark.
In addition to his 2020 win, McGowan has been twice longlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal for The Knife That Killed Me in 2008 and Brock in 2014, and he was shortlisted for Rook in 2018. He is also the winner of the 2006 Booktrust Teenage Prize for his work Henry Tumour.
