Annie Jacobsen

Annie Jacobsen is an American investigative journalist, author, and a 2016 Pulitzer Prize finalist. She is renowned for her work on war, weapons, security, and secrets. Jacobsen is the author of several influential books, including Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base, which was described by The New York Times as "cauldron-stirring."

Her other notable works include: Operation Paperclip, The Pentagon’s Brain, Phenomena, Surprise, Kill, Vanish, and First Platoon. Her latest book, Nuclear War: A Scenario, has become an international bestseller. Many of her works have been recognized as Best of the Year and Most Anticipated by major publications such as The Washington Post, USA Today, and Vanity Fair.

In addition to her writing, Jacobsen is a television writer and producer, contributing to shows like Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Amazon Studios and Clarice on CBS. Her media appearances range from PBS Newshour to the Joe Rogan Experience.

Jacobsen graduated from Princeton University, where she was the Captain of the Women's Ice Hockey Team. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Kevin, and their two sons.
