Andrew Kaufman is a Canadian writer, film director, and radio producer, best known for his novels that blend elements of genre literature, such as fantasy, superhero, and detective novels, with humor.
Born and raised in Wingham, Ontario, Kaufman often humorously refers to himself as the second most famous or second best writer to come from Wingham, a town also known for being the birthplace of Alice Munro.
His critically acclaimed first book, All My Friends Are Superheroes, became a cult hit and has been translated into six languages. Kaufman is also an accomplished screenwriter, filmmaker, and radio producer, having completed a Director's Residency at the Canadian Film Centre.
He currently resides in Toronto with his wife and their two children, Phoenix and Frida.
