Andre Agassi

Andre Kirk Agassi is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. He is an eight-time major champion, an Olympic gold medalist, and a runner-up in seven other majors. Agassi is one of the few male players to achieve the Career Grand Slam, winning all four major singles titles: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. He also achieved the Career Golden Slam and the Career Super Slam in 1999.

Agassi was the first man to win all four singles majors on three different surfaces (hard, clay, and grass) and remains the most recent American man to win the French Open (1999) and the Australian Open (2003). He won 17 Masters titles and was part of the winning Davis Cup teams in 1990, 1992, and 1995. Known as "The Punisher", Agassi reached the world No. 1 ranking for the first time in 1995. He retired after the 2006 US Open due to physical issues, including sciatica caused by spinal problems.

Beyond his tennis career, Agassi founded the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, raising over $60 million for at-risk children in Southern Nevada, and opened the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas in 2001. He has been married to fellow tennis player Steffi Graf since 2001.
