Amos Smith

Amos Brittain Smith III was an American chemist and academic, renowned for his tenure as a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Amos was also a family man, hiker, walker, seasoned Centering Prayer practitioner, workshop and retreat leader, Contemplative Christian writer, and Rehabilitation Therapist.

His writings have been published in various outlets, including The Billings Gazette, The Spokesman-Review, Friends Journal: Quaker Thought and Life Today, and Chicago Seminary Press. In 2013, he published his first book, Healing The Divide: Recovering Christianity’s Mystic Roots with Wipf & Stock Publishers. The book was well received and became part of the curriculum for the Living School of The Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC).

In 2018, Amos published his second book, Be Still and Listen, with Paraclete Press, followed by his third book, Holistic Mys.
