Amnon Jackont is an Israeli author of thrillers, a historian, and a literary editor. Born in 1948 in Ramat Gan, he grew up in a bourgeois family that immigrated to Israel from Belgium after WWII. He received a European education which emphasized good manners.
Jackont studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem during his military service in the summer breaks. He initially worked in real estate, investments, and insurance before pursuing a career in writing. Many of his books became bestsellers.
From 1988, he worked as a literary editor for the Keter Publishing House. In 1997, Jackont ceased his business activities to focus on writing, editing, and history studies at Tel Aviv University. After completing his master's degree in 2002, he earned a PhD in 2006.
In 2002, Jackont began engaging in relationship counseling through workshops and TV programs, some of which he conducted with his wife, radio show hostess Varda Rasiel-Jackont. They currently reside in Tel Aviv.
