Amish Tripathi, born on 18 October 1974, is a distinguished author, former diplomat, and broadcaster from India. He has made a significant mark in the Indian publishing industry as one of the fastest-selling authors, best known for his works The Shiva Trilogy and Ram Chandra Series.
Since 2010, Tripathi's books have sold over 7 million copies and have been translated into 20 Indian and international languages. His journey from a banker to an award-winning author is a testament to his passion for history, mythology, and philosophy. He finds beauty and meaning in all world religions, which is evident in his writing. The success of his debut book, The Immortals of Meluha (Book 1 of the Shiva Trilogy), encouraged him to leave a fourteen-year-long career in financial services to dedicate himself to writing.
Tripathi served as Minister (Culture & Education) at the High Commission of India in the UK and was the Director of the Nehru Centre, London from 2019 to 2023.
