Alice Schroeder

Alice D. Schroeder is an American executive, financial journalist, and author known for her expertise in the insurance industry. Born on December 14, 1956, in Texas, she pursued her undergraduate degree and MBA at the University of Texas at Austin before moving east to work in finance.

Schroeder was a leading sell-side insurance analyst at Morgan Stanley and was later recognized as Berkshire Hathaway's appointed biographer, notably writing The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, a New York Times bestseller published in October 2008. Her deep understanding of insurance made her a prominent figure in the field, serving as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Prudential PLC.

Additionally, Alice Schroeder's work extended to advising on significant changes in US reinsurance accounting regulations as a project manager for the US Financial Accounting Standards Board. She has been a columnist for Bloomberg News since 2008.

Currently, she resides in Connecticut with her husband and continues to contribute to the field with her expert insights.
