Alex Sanchez is an American author best known for his impactful teen novels. The Rainbow Boys trilogy is among his most celebrated works. In addition to this trilogy, his other significant works include The God Box, Getting It, and So Hard to Say, which won the Lambda Award for middle-grade fiction.

His novel Bait was awarded the Florida Book Award Gold Medal for YA fiction. Beyond his writing, Alex has a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Old Dominion University and has extensive experience working as a youth and family counselor.
