Alain Damasio (born Alain Raymond, 1 August 1969) is a French writer of sci-fi and fantasy. He also works as a scriptwriter for comics, radio fictions, movie and TV series. Damasio is notable as an audio and spoken word artist.

He was born in Lyon to a father who was a panel beater and a mother who was an English teacher. Damasio achieved his scientific baccalauréat and after a preparatory class for the HEC, he entered ESSEC, which he left in 1991. He chose to isolate himself first in Vercors and then in Nonza, Corsica, to devote himself to writing. His preferred domain is political anticipation, blending this genre with elements of science fiction or fantasy.

In his youth, he wrote numerous short stories. His first long text, La Zone du dehors, is a work of anticipation focusing on societal themes, which sold over 50,000 copies.
