Aimee Bender is an American novelist and short story writer, renowned for her surreal stories and characters. She is the author of the novel An Invisible Sign of My Own and the short story collections The Girl in the Flammable Skirt and Willful Creatures. Her work has been widely anthologized and translated into ten languages.

In 2011, she was honored with the Alex Awards. Aimee Bender currently resides in Los Angeles.
