A.W. Tozer

Aiden Wilson Tozer was an influential American Christian pastor, author, magazine editor, and spiritual mentor, born on April 21, 1897, in rural Pennsylvania. He began his spiritual journey at the age of 17 after hearing a street preacher.

Tozer became associated with the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination, serving for over four decades. Known for his deep devotion to God, Tozer focused on three main tasks throughout his ministry: prayer, study, and proclamation. His commitment to prayer was profound, often spending hours in prayer, and his studies extended beyond the Bible to include works from church fathers, mystics, and philosophers.

The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy are two of Tozer's most acclaimed works, both considered classics in Christian literature. Despite his lack of formal education beyond the sixth grade, Tozer was a self-educated man who left a lasting impact on Christian thought.

Tozer passed away in May 1963, leaving behind a legacy of powerful sermons and writings that continue to inspire believers worldwide.
