A.C. Crispin

Ann Carol Crispin (April 5, 1950 – September 6, 2013) was a celebrated American science fiction writer, known for authoring 23 published novels. She was renowned for her work on Star Trek and Star Wars novelizations and for creating an original science fiction series called StarBridge.

Crispin began her professional writing career in 1983 and served as the Eastern Regional Director and Vice President of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA). She co-founded Writer Beware with Victoria Strauss in 1998, a watchdog group under the SFWA, which helps protect aspiring writers from scam agents, editors, and publishers. Writer Beware has been instrumental in assisting law enforcement and civil authorities in shutting down fraudulent operations in the writing industry.
